Financings

We represent our clients on a variety of equity financings including SAFE's; angel and seed investments; and venture capital transactions. We also advise our clients on loan transactions such as acquisition financings; asset-based financings; bridge loans; credit lines; leases; mezzanine financings; note offerings; revolving credit facilities; term loans; and working capital facilities. Hourly and contingency fee pricing is available.

General Corporate

We advise clients on business formation; employment, compensation and benefits; privacy, cybersecurity, data protection and compliance; and dispute resolution. We also prepare, review and/or negotiate an array of contracts and documents including SaaS and PaaS agreements; service agreements; reseller agreements; vendor contracts; supply and distribution agreements; consulting and independent contractor agreements; engagement letters; offer letters; term sheets; letters of intent; confidentiality agreements; terms and policies for apps and websites; and governance documents. Outside GC

We regularly act as outside (or "fractional") general counsel to our clients. In this capacity, in addition to advising our clients on transactions, financings and contracts, we also advice boards, executives and other employees on strategy, governance, risk management, dispute resolution, compliance and policies. Additionally, upon request, we advise our clients on the selection and supervision of specialist legal counsel such as tax, intellectual property, litigation and real estate. In addition to hourly and fixed fee pricing, subscription-based pricing is available for long-term engagements.

Meet the team

A former Big Law corporate attorney, investment banker and deputy general counsel of a fintech he took public, Jonathan Savar founded The Savar Law Firm in 2015 in order to address an absence in the marketplace of skilled and experienced corporate transactional counsel for startups and emerging growth companies. Since founding the firm to address this need a decade ago, he has represented hundreds of clients of all sizes on an array of transactions, financings and other matters in a variety of sectors, with more than 120 five-star reviews (and only five-star reviews) of the firm's work.

Jonathan Savar

Managing Partner
With three decades of experience, Jonathan is a former Big Law (Kirkland, Skadden and Dechert) corporate attorney and investment banker (Macquarie, BNP Paribas) who has closed tens of billions of dollars of transactions and financings. He was also the deputy general counsel and chief transactions and financings counsel of a fintech that he led in a $1.2 billion IPO. Jonathan graduated from The University of Chicago Law School (where he was Editor-in-Chief of a law journal and advised by current Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan) and Princeton University.
